The Executive Director I want to thank all of you who have been politically active in recent months. I know many of you attended the rally at the statehouse in February where more than two thousand individuals gathered to protest the devastating budget cuts that we are facing. 
Families, staff and people we support have been writing letters, making calls and visiting their elected officials to
express their concerns and tell their personal stories.

In an effort to prepare for the future, the leadership team at Avatar has met to explore ways to maximize cost effectiveness and adapt our organizational structure in light of proposed changes to our funding. Many creative ideas were exchanged, and we developed a plan that focuses on the following: Avatar will maintain a competent and motivated workforce who demonstrate a strong sense of community and cooperation. Avatar will ensure that each person we support is living in a home that provides optimum choice and independence. Avatar will maximize cost efficiency in the utilization of our resources. Avatar will offer a cooperative day support system that is unified in its commitment to sharing resources while offering diverse and development focused opportunities for all people. Avatar will promote opportunities for wellness activities I look forward to working with all of the stakeholders in shaping quality services here at Avatar and throughout our system.
