Shared Living Arrangement
A Shared Living Arrangement (SLA) supports a person with a developmental disability to live with an individual or family in a home-like setting where people can help with daily activities such as meals, transportation and personal care while providing a positive social environment.
Avatar began offering Shared Living Arrangements (SLA) in 2008. We were one of the first private agencies in Rhode Island to provide this residential option. We are proud to be able to offer it as an alternative to group home living. The key to success is a strong relationship between residents and Shared Living Providers. We currently coordinate 29 SLAs throughout the state.
Your compensation for providing a Shared Living Arrangement:
Tax-free stipend
Tax-free room & board payment
Taxable respite allowance
